JWST does not orbit Earth. It sits about 1.5 million kilometres away at L2, a gravity-balance point directly opposite the Sun from Earth, looping slowly around it. That means it is always in your midnight sky, opposite the Sun, but at magnitude 25 or so it is millions of times too faint for any backyard telescope. You can still know exactly where to face, and this page works it out for tonight.
